About the Bold City Lions Club
Objectives
The International Association of Lions Clubs was formed in 1917 by a Chicago, Illinois businessman, Melvin Jones.
Since that time it has grown to be the world's largest service organization with more than 1.4 million members in 44,000 clubs in 185 countries and geographic areas.
Each member shares a common bond of dedicated service in helping others.
Our motto is We Serve, with special emphasis places on the blind, visually handicapped, hard of hearing, children at risk and diabetes awareness, of each local community.
All Lions are Volunteers!
We enjoy fellowship, develop leadership skills and dedicate part of their time to help those in need all over the world, while making their individual communities a better place in which to live.
The Bold City Lions Club is an autonomous organization of the International Association covering Jacksonville's Southside and Mandarin areas.
We are a non-profit organization that provides eye exams, eyeglasses, guidedogs and eye surgeries for the less fortunate children and adults in our community.
The mission of our club is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international understanding.
Hence, the motto We Serve.
Who Are We?

TO ENCOURAGE service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
